Week 1
The 61st season of the the Didcot & District Table Tennis League has started with 50 teams in 5 divisions. The League can still accommodate additional teams and players (see www.ddtta.org.uk for contact details).
In Division 1, two Didcot teams won their opening matches 9-1. Didcot A, with maximums for Greg Donovan and Ade Noke, were too strong for Drayton B, and John Barclay and Rob Hudson went unbeaten for Didcot B against Moreton A. Steve Dobbins and Karl Bushell returned triples for Didcot C and Drayton A respectively in 7-3 victories over Abingdon A and RAL A.
RAL C head Division 2 after beating Drayton C 7-3. However, Markus Wagner of newly promoted Howbery B and Mike Aistrop of Abingdon C achieved the division's first hat-tricks.
Steve Gardner, Eric Thomas and Renato Turchetta of RAL D whitewashed Abingdon F in Division 3.
Abingdon G lead Division 4 beating RAL F with Dan Cruse and Ryota Goto in great form. Tony Prior and Jill Vale hit maximums for Letcombe C in an 8-2 win over Abingdon H, and three for Matt Wicks guided Drayton F to 7-3 victory against Letcombe D.
Milad Arjeneh and Kevin Knowles inspired RAL G to 8-2 victory at Moreton F in Division 5, while Robert Lott set up a 7-3 success for Upton B against Abingdon J.
