Week 6

A Karl Bushnell treble has sent Drayton A clear in Division 1 of the Didcot and District Table Tennis Association. Bushnells three wins help secure a 7-3 win over title rivals Didcot B. Letcombe A moved up to third place after another Richard Taylor maximum inspired them to a 6-4 win over Drayton B, whilst also moving Taylor to the top of the individual rankings. RAL B also secured a win this week as Anders Markvardsen recorded a full house in a 7-3 win over Didcot C.

Division 2 saw RAL C take advantage of a stumble from Howbery A to move to the top. Three Tim Pett wins saw an 8-2 win for the RAL side over Upton A coincide with Moreton B holding the Howbery side to a 5-5 draw to open up the title race. The remaining fixtures were also tight affairs. Drayton D and Sutton B played out a 5-5 draw, in which John Gould registered a maximum for the Drayton side. Meanwhile, Abingdon C and Didcot D also came away with a 5-5 draw with James Lovelock going unbeaten.

Abingdon E remain ahead of the pack in Division 3 despite being held to a 5-5 draw by second placed Sutton C. Another Geoff Burton treble helped the Abingdon side remain unbeaten and also maintained his 100% start to the season. Drayton E have also held on to third place as Kevin Davies hit three wins in a 5-5 draw with Didcot F. Meanwhile, Mark Ghafoor also secured a full house as his Abingdon D side played out a 5-5 draw with Abingdon F, whilst Charlie Lane hit a maximum as Moreton C came away from their match with Abingdon D with yet another 5-5 draw.

Wallingford have maintained their unbeaten season in Division 4 with maximums from both David Quinn and Tony Quinn helping the leaders to a 7-3 victory over Drayton F. Nearest challengers, Letcombe C, kept up the pressure with an 8-2 win over Moreton D thanks to three wins apiece from Tony Prior and Phil Richards. Drayton F also stayed in contention with a 6-4 victory over Abingdon H. Elsewhere, Sutton D had Kevin Hessey to thank as his maximum helped his side secure a 6-4 win over Letcombe D then put paid to RAL F 7-3 thanks to Lucian Danailas maximum.

In Division 5, RAL G lead the way after a 6-4 victory over Abingdon J kept up their unbeaten start to the season. Moreton E moved up into second spot with a 9-1 win over Abingdon I but were unable to keep up with the leaders after being held to a 5-5 draw by Abingdon J.
