Week 20
Drayton A look to have secured the title in Division 1 of the Didcot and District Table Tennis Association with an emphatic 10-0 win over Abingdon A. This win, followed up by a 7-3 win over Drayton B, has pushed them 8 points clear at the top. Abingdon B remain rooted to the bottom having gone down 8-2 to RAL B and 6-4 to RAL A despite Andy McGolgan hitting a treble. Meanwhile, Letcombe A came away with a 6-4 win in a tight match with RAL B and Chris Lansley inspired his RAL side to a 6-4 win over Moreton A.
Didcot D have returned to the top of Division 2 with an 8-2 win over Upton A but were unable to extend their lead as they went down 6-4 to Drayton D. Second placed RAL C kept up the pressure with a flawless 10-0 win over Moreton B. Sutton B recorded an excellent 10-0 win over Howbery A, who then secured a 5-5 draw with Drayton C, despite a maximum from Ray Massie. Sutton B continued their excellent week with an 8-2 win over Howbery B featuring a Hong Zhu treble as Drayton C eased past Abingdon C with an 8-2 victory containing another Massie hat trick.
With Abingdon E all but promoted from Division 3 following an 8-2 win over Letcombe B, RAL D moved up into second place with an Eric Thomas inspired 8-2 victory over Drayton E. Letcombe B were unable to improve their fortunes as they then went down 7-3 to Didcot E.
The top two places in Division 4 look to have been decided as Wallingford and Letcombe C have opened up a big gap on the others. This week saw Drayton F and Sutton D play out a 5-5 draw with Lucian Danaila hitting three wins for Sutton.
Upton B remain in pole position in Division 5 despite going down 6-4 to second placed RAL G. Moreton E kept up the pressure on the top two with an 8-2 win over Abingdon I with Howard Hawkins hitting a maximum.
