Week 18
Didcot B have closed the gap at the top Division 1 of the Didcot and District Table Tennis Association. An emphatic 9-1 victory over Moreton A was followed up by a 6-4 win over Drayton B thanks to a second Eddie Herrity maximum in a week and has moved them to within striking distance of the leaders. Moreton A salvaged some pride from the week with an excellent 8-2 win over RAL B with Joe Cheong recording a treble. Didcot C had Steve Dobbins to thank as his three wins helped them to a 6-4 win over RAL A.
Leaders Didcot D were held to a 5-5 draw by Howbery A in Division 2 this week despite James Lovelock maintaining his unbeaten season However, second placed RAL C were unable to take advantage as they were held to a 5-5 draw themselves by Drayton D even with the impressive Bill Mason hitting three more wins.
Abingdon E eased past RAL D with a 7-3 win to help them on their way to the title in Division 3. Meanwhile, John Tremayne was on form for Abingdon D as his three wins helped secure an 8-2 win over Didcot E. James Tripp also hit three wins this week as Upton A registered a 6-4 win over Moreton B and Abingdon C put paid to Sutton A with a 7-3 win.
Wallingford have held on to top spot in Division 4 with another David Quinn inspired 8-2 win, this time over Abingdon H. Letcombe C are still pushing them hard as they easily dispatched Drayton F with a 9-1 win.
Upton B remain in control of Division 5 having registered a straightforward 10-0 win over Moreton F and an 8-2 win over Abingdon I. Both Robert Lott and Richard Brown remain at the top of the rankings having both hit two maximums in a week. RAL G lost ground on the leaders after being held to a 5-5 draw by Moreton E.
