Week 3
The newly promoted teams in Division 1 continued to struggle with both Upton and Marlborough D going down 9-1. A weakened RAL A side went down 6-4 to Marlborough A despite a maximum from Neil Hurford. Marlborough C managed an 8-2 win over RAL thanks to a maximum from Phil Haycock. Perhaps not the whitewash that could have been predicted. Charlie Lane again got a maximum in a losing cause for Moreton against a weakened Drayton A. The top of the table appears to be featuring the usual suspects.
In division 2 a fine maximum from Kevin Liquorish got a draw for RAL C against Abingdon A for whom Owen Brazell appears to be having a poor start to the season. Richard Giblin�s maximum helped Drayton C to a 7-3 win over Moreton C. Moreton B appear to be the early pacesetters in this division. Sutton C�s poor start to the season continued as they went down 9-1 to Sutton A.
In division 3 Tim Pett�s maximum helped RAL D to a close fought win over Grove A. Hanney also overcame last week�s disappointment with a 7-3 win over Abgindon B thanks to Arthur Anstis�s maximum, ably supported by the rest of the family. Abingdon had a poor week with the D side losing 10-0 to Drayton D. Another close battle saw Marlborough E win 6-4 over Letcombe B despite a maximum from Duncan Vale in a losing cause. Marcin Jedrzejowski�s maximum could not help Wallingford B and they went down 6-4 to Sutton C.
The matches in Division 4 were all very one sided this week. Peter Sinclair�s maximum helping Marlborough G to an 8-2 win over Moreton D and all the Letcombe C players getting a maximum in their match against Drayton E, only to lose the doubles.
In division 5 Monica Graham�s maximum helped Sandford A to a 7-3 win over Abingdon D.
