Week 9
The shock result this week in division 1 was Upton winning their first match over Drayton A, helped by a maximum from John Talbot. Congratulations to Upton on this win which lifts them off the bottom of the table. In other matches Charlie Lanes maximum could not help Moreton A going down 6-4 to an in form Marlborough A side. RAL A continued their serene progress at the top of the table and not even Richard Taylor could stop an 8-2 win for RAL. Marlborough C lost only the doubles in their match against RAL B to stop the clean sweep.
In division 2 Richard Giblin�s fighting maximum could not prevent Drayton C going down 7-3 against table topping Moreton B. Claudiu Silaghi�s maximum helped Sutton B salvage a draw against Drayton B. A return for Abingdon A�s captain did not go according to plan although maximums from Stuart Pringle and Mike Aistrop helped Abingdon A to an 8-2 win over Wallingford A to go equal on points with Moreton at the top of the table. The top of the division is still very close though with only 5 points separating the top 5 teams.
In division 3 Duncan Vales maximum helped Letcombe B to a 7-3 win over Abingdon B to move themselves up to second in the table. Sutton C�s 10-0 thumping of RAL D moves them up to third in the table.
In division 4 Marc Addison�s maximum helped Drayton G sneak a 6-4 win over Marlborough G. This consolidates Drayton G�s position at the top of the table, indeed they seem to running away with the division currently. Graham Stephenson�s maximum helped Drayton E to a 6-4 win over Marlborough G. Not a good week for the Marlborough sides. Robbie Greenfields maximum helped Drayton F salvage a draw against Letcombe C. Despite this result however Letcombe C remain rooted to the bottom of the table.
The only match this week in division 5 saw a comfortable win for table topping Sandford B thanks to maximums for Mick Morbey and Joe Rolls. The top of this division is very tight with the chasing pack having games in hand and not a large gap between them and the top.
